Guangdong Province made Guangxu Yuan Treasure House Ping Zhong one tael, cast in the 31st year of Guangxu (1905), specially cast to commemorate the 70th birthday of the Empress Dowager Cixi. In the form of currency, it carries the vision of the Empress Dowager Cixi to celebrate her birthday and the cultural memory of the last years of the Qing Dynasty, and has become a treasure in the world of numismatic collecting. The upper end of the bead circle is engraved with the words "Made in Guangdong Province", and the lower end is the five characters of "Kuping Heavy One Tael" in regular script, symbolizing the weight and value of the currency. The left and right sides are each cast with a bat pattern, and the word "bat" of the bat is homophonic with the word "Fu", implying auspiciousness. The inside of the bead circle is cast with the four characters of "Guangxu ingots" that are read directly in Manchu and Chinese, which reflects the integration of Manchu and Han cultures, and the bead circle is cast with a double dragon play bead pattern, the dragon body is exquisitely carved, the scales are clearly visible, and under the backdrop of the sea of clouds, it seems that the dragon soars into the sky, which is very dynamic. There is a round "longevity" character cast in the bead circle, which echoes the bat pattern on the front, and together constitute the beautiful meaning of "happiness and longevity". Due to the limited number of minted coins, most of which were used to celebrate birthdays, they were not widely circulated, and some of the silver coins were destroyed in the war, resulting in extremely scarce surviving coins. Due to its rarity, this silver coin is listed as one of the top ten treasures of modern Chinese coins, and is known as the "legendary silver coin".
