This small plate of imperial poetry from the Ru kiln of the Song Dynasty is a representative artifact of the Ru Guan kiln during the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty (around 1107-1125), and can be regarded as a model of the integration of porcelain art and literary aesthetics in the Song Dynasty court. This vessel dates back to the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty - Ru Kiln, as the first of the "Five Famous Kilns" of the Song Dynasty, was only fired for about 20 years during Emperor Huizong's reign and was exclusively used by the court. There are less than a hundred complete vessels in existence, and the number of collections in top museums around the world is also very limited. Its kiln mouth is the Ruguan Kiln of Qingliang Temple in Baofeng, Henan Province. It was the creator of the "sky blue aesthetics" in the Northern Song Dynasty's official kiln system and has been praised as "rare in the near future" in later generations. The existence of this small plate itself has "cultural relic level scarcity". The tire body is the iconic "fragrant gray tire" of Ru kiln, delicate and dense, with a clear and melodious knocking sound; The glaze is made of agate (tested to contain silica based agate components), with a thick, smooth and transparent glaze layer, presenting a sky blue color of "rain over the sky and clouds breaking". The glaze surface is covered with natural "crab claw patterns and cracks", which are artistic textures formed by differences in the shrinkage rate of the glaze body. After post-processing, the cracks are light brown in color, simple and elegant. Using the "wrapped foot and fired" process, small "sesame nail" marks can be seen on the bottom foot (the nails support the firing process to avoid contact between the glaze and the kiln furniture), and the nails are neat and uniform, reflecting the precision standard of "one vessel, one box" in Ru kiln - the yield rate of this type of process is less than 10%, which is even more precious. Accurate firing is required in a reducing atmosphere of 1260-1280 ℃, with a temperature error of no more than ± 10 ℃. In the Song Dynasty, craftsmen achieved precision comparable to modern industry through "kiln fire temperature discrimination" and "air control". The warm texture of glaze color and the natural rhythm of opening are the embodiment of this ultimate craftsmanship.
