Its shape is plump and solid, with exquisitely crafted deer-head ears holding rings, accented perfectly by alum red. The body is painted with a hundred deer wandering among green mountains and ridges in pastel; the deer are depicted in various vivid postures, while the rocks, plants are rendered with delicate texture and elegant, layered colors. “Hundred deer” homophones “hundred blessings”, embodying both auspicious meaning and artistic value.
