The body of the piece is fashioned from a single jade block into a cylindrical storage container and jade-bound books, with the cylinder and pages meticulously inscribed with poetry and prose using recessed carving techniques. Both the craftsmanship and the script demonstrate the supreme precision characteristic of imperial works.
